At General Mills, Steve demonstrated an ability to develop, motivate and lead experienced sales teams and became one of the youngest people to enter a management role at 27. Later, his sales and marketing abilities brought him to Lysol where he was instrumental in developing the first national trade marketing division which had far-reaching benefits on new product launches and promotional spending strategies. Throughout his career, Steve has always found ways to innovate and improve existing sales and marketing practices as well as develop new, cutting edge system that benefited distribution, logistics, merchandising, 3rd party sellers, operations, advertising and individual sales performance.
Steve specializes in working closely with owners and executives to transform company performance levels through more effective go-to-market practices. His prior responsibility for directing multi-level sales teams that produced from $45 million to over $100 million in annual sales gives him an acute sense of the organizational dynamics needed to operate successfully and profitably in a geographically and structurally diverse environment.
Steve Smith is a graduate of Frostburg State University, Frostburg Md. with a degree in Business Management and concentrations in accounting and sociology. His knack for analyzing and evaluating situations combined with problem solving and a keen understanding of human nature makes him a valued resource for small business owners, professionals and executives. Throughout his corporate career, he was revered for his ability and commitment to helping individuals overcome obstacles and reach new levels of career and personal accomplishments.

Well, I've personally built four multimillion-dollar companies from scratch. From zero to as many as 1,600 sales people and about 700 support staff. From scratch to Nasdaq IPO.
So OneCoach is my fourth business. My business partner, Murray Smith, has built 14 of them. He's even more the entrepreneur then than I am. We've been best friends for 25 years.
What does it take to have a successful business?
Well, number one, it takes having the right belief system. And most people don't understand what the right belief system is. Belief systems are what we believe to be true about our abilities and what's possible. So if you want to help somebody understand how to build a bigger company, you have to change their belief system to accommodate the vision or the new belief that they have. And if you don't do that, then what you've got are hopes and dreams and wishes. So that's the first step.
The next part is you've got to have the right skills and the right strategies. You can have the right beliefs, you can have the right desires and wishes, but unless you know what skills you have ... (and decide) to build a team around you or to outsource, then you're doing everything. You're chief bottle washer or cook.
